Although every day is different at ‘Bubbles’, the overall structure and rhythm remains the same. It’s important to us to have planned activities to ensure that we are providing a strong, comprehensive curriculum. At the same time, we also allow a certain amount of flexibility so that all opportunities for learning can be embraced and the children’s natural spontaneity can flourish.

Morning
Morning starts with the hustle and bustle of arrivals, and soon the children are settled into their groups and ready to begin their activities. These are carefully planned by age group, and everybody is encouraged to join in. Obviously, different children like to do different things, so there is a choice of activities available to them. Each one, however, is geared so that staff can help children towards a positive learning outcome. Mid-morning break is usually at around 11.00am. Whenever the weather permits, we always include a period of outside play in the morning schedule. Fresh air and natural light are better for everyone’s health, and being outdoors brings children closer to nature and improves their understanding of the environment.

Tea-time (Evening Snacks)
At about 4.00pm the children sit down for evening snacks. This is followed by more activities for some children; others will begin to leave from around 4.00pm. Activities after tea continue whilst parents arrive to pick their children up and take them home. Those that are still here are usually pretty tired by now, so it’s a good time for a story, reading or some other quiet activity.
